"Community Development Assessment" is one of the cycles that are carried out by stages during the implementation of community projects. So, first stage monitoring is conducted in 6 month, after the completion and the 2nd stage monitoring is conducted after a year, upon completion of the project. Therefore, this month we took our way in that direction. The communities that we visited includes, Gazakhlar, Ughurbeyli, Nazırlı, Hajalı II, Gulgezli, Soghanverdiler communities in Barda, and Tatalılar, Yukhary Kabirli, Aghabeyli communities in Beylagan. The main goal of the Participatory Monitoring Evaluation attended by the Community Group members, was to check activities carried out by the community during the last 6 months, sustainability of the Community Group and the Community Projects, the community room and the level of organizational management, their satisfaction with the project, representation at the Community Networking events, status of the Community Funds, as well as evaluating the impact of projects on communities, which results with obtaining information about the Community Project during the past 6 months, and providing the Community Group with the relevant information and recommendations. Participatory Monitoring Evaluation was conducted in two drainage channel, one potable water, two roads, and four community renovation projects.
The Participatory Monitoring Evaluation results in the communities revealed that those communities mobilized through AzRIP 2 are sustainable, and projects’ sustainability is carried out and well maintained by the community. These communities also expand their relationships and actively participate at the AzRIP 2-supported Community Networking events and as a Community Group they very well produce results from lessons learnt. All of these communities have carried out number of community-level small activities during the last 6 months like, cleaning out the irrigation channels, graveling the internal village roads, purchasing tents for community events (weddings and funeral parties), rehabilitation of certain parts of potable water pipelines, and financially supporting vulnerable community residents.
What we heard and saw, made us to conclude that, local community residents are satisfied with the results of community projects, which left very significant impacts on their daily lives and activities. These are socio-cultural and economic impacts which make the community’s life more enjoyable and comfortable. This is why, during the meetings, many communities have expressed an initiative to implement next projects with AzRIP2. We wished successes to communities and carried on our activities by making site visits to community projects.
